Japanese warship to dock in Subic

MANILA, Philippines — Japan Maritime Self-Defense Forces’ Murasame-class destroyer JS Samidare (DD-106) is set to dock in Subic on Friday for a goodwill visit.

In an advisory, the Philippine Navy said the Japanese warship will bring two SH-60K helicopters and 200 crew onboard when it drops anchor at Alava Wharf.

The goodwill visit is from May 17 to 19.

Meanwhile, US Coast Guard Cutter Bertholf  (WMSL 750) moored in South Harbor in Manila on Wednesday.

There will be a series of engagements including trainings as well as sports and community relations events.

The visit follows the joint exercises with the Philippine Coast Guard in the West Philippine Sea the other day. (Editor: Jonathan P. Vicente)
