BI to deport American wanted for rape
MANILA, Philippines — An American fugitive who is wanted for rape in the United States (US) is set to be deported by the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
BI chief Jaime Morente said on Thursday that Carmen Daniel Perzechino Jr., 57, has been the subject of an arrest warrant issued by a Superior Court in Kenai, Alaska.
Perzechino was said to be charged with two counts of sexual assault in the first degree and one count of kidnapping-injury with sexual assault.
Agents of the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) arrested the American on April 4, in Angeles City, Pampanga following Morente’s mission order as requested by the US Embassy.
“The crime was committed 18 years ago, but now he has been caught by our men, and [he] will be sent back to his country to face trial,” Morente said.
According to BI FSU Chief Bobby Raquepo, Perzechino committed the crime in Sterling, Alaska on Jan. 20, 2001.
