MANILA, Philippines – A Filipina was injured in a multiple-vehicle collision in Kazakhstan which resulted in the death of two persons and injuries to 27 others, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Wednesday.
The road mishap, the DFA said, happened on Tuesday, March 26 and involved three buses, two passenger cars and an ambulance.
The DFA said that according to Ambassador to Russia Carlos Sorreta, Jennifer Francisco Lavapiez informed the embassy through social media that was injured in an accident.
The DFA has since extended assistance to Lavapiez.
The Philippine embassy said Lavapiez was admitted at a hospital in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan, and was last listed in stable condition, the DFA reported. / gsg
