DFA: No Filipinos aboard Bangladesh plane in foiled hijacking
MANILA, Philippines — No Filipinos were on board the plane of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, which a passenger attempted to hijack Sunday on its way to Dubai.
This was the assurance of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) after receiving report from the Philippine Embassy in Dhaka.
According to DFA, a Bangladeshi man brandished a gun aboard and attempted to hijack the plane airborne.
The pilot consequently made an emergency landing in Chittagong after a crew member reported “suspicious behavior” inflight, Associated Press reported.

Bangladeshi Civil Aviation and Tourism Sevretary Mohibul Hauque said all 142 passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft. /kga
