MANILA, Philippines — Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Locsin Jr. said on Friday that he wants to see the German ambassador who summoned a Philippine envoy over Locsin’s comments defending President Rodrigo Duterte’s Adolf Hitler remark.
“Yes, what now? Berlin embassy is handling it,” Locsin wrote in a tweet.
“I already told them to tell the German Foreign Ministry to send the German ambassador to me because I’d rather finish my own fights than have others do it. So, ano nayon, bakla?” Locsin added.

The issue was reported by German journalist Arnd Henze, of Berlin-based ARD Hauptstadtstudio, in a Twitter post, saying Locsin’s remarks were “unacceptable.”

Locsin was defending Duterte’s statement back in 2016 where the President compared his bloody drug war to Hitler and the Holocaust.
“Hitler massacred 3 million Jews … there are 3 million drug addicts. I’d be happy to slaughter them,” Duterte said in a speech in September 2016.
A video which showed proof of Locsin affirming Duterte’s statement was featured on the website of ARD Hauptstadtstudio.
“It’s how he expresses himself, remember, his policy, according to the surveys, has inspired a greater confidence, why would we give up on that?” Locsin said in the interview.
“I said the same thing. I myself said the same thing before he even said it,” Locsin added.
