According to Romualdez, about 500 Filipinos are located in Haiti.
He added that the Embassy was “closely monitoring” the situation of the anti-government protest rallies since it erupted late last week.
The rallies have already caused disruptions in the capital Port-au-Prince and other nearby cities.
Nevertheless, Fitzegerals Brandt, Philippine Honorary Consul General, reported that Filipinos were safe and were staying away from the areas affected by the mass demonstrations. /cbb
