MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday received six bomb suits, six ballistic shields, 440 bulletproof vests, 440 ballistic helmets donated by the Japanese government.

Japanese Ambassador Koji Hameda turned over the equipment during a ceremonial rite at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The donations were made under the Japan Grant Aid for Economic and Social Development Program.

The equipment would be used by policemen involved in anti-terror operations. /cbb
