MANILA, Philippines — No Filipinos have been reported hurt in the bakery explosion incident in Paris, France, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

“The Philippine Embassy in Paris said it was informed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs that none of the three fatalities or the almost 50 who were injured in the blast was from the Philippines,” the DFA said in a statement late Saturday night.

Chargé d’Affaires Aileen Mendiola of the Philippine Embassy in France then extended sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims.

She said that the explosion that happened along Rue de Trevise was believed caused by a gas leak.

The DFA said that around 25,000 Filipinos were reported to be living in France, with majority of them are living in Paris. /je
