MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said it is checking if Filipinos were among the victims of a bus crash in Ottawa in Canada.
In a statement on Saturday, Jan. 12, the DFA said Ambassador to Canada Petronila Garcia reported that the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa is coordinating with authorities to determine if any Filipino was involved in the accident.
A city transport double decker bus hit a bus shelter at Ottawa’s Westboro station during the afternoon rush hour on Friday, the DFA said.
The crash killed two passengers and one person waiting at the station and injured 23 others, it added. /muf
