MANILA, Philippines — Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin Jr. suddenly became a love guru to a soon-to-wed netizen in Estonia asking assistance for her visa application.

A netizen with Twitter handle @liatundag explained to Locsin on Wednesday that she is preparing to marry an Estonian citizen soon, but her Schengen visa is about to expire.

“Good PM sir, @teddyboylocsin! I am currently in Estonia and preparing to get married to an Estonian Citizen. My 90-day Schengen Visa is expiring soon & I need to get my NSO & CENOMAR legalised however the process to obtain a sample signature from PH Embassy in Poland is slow,” the netizen said in a tweet.

Locsin quoted the tweet and said, “If he loves you he will wait and I think you are worth the wait. One must always test love.”

The netizen added, “According to the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the fastest the PH Embassy in Poland typically replies to an email is 1- 2 weeks. I am running out of time, sir @teddyboylocsin and we have exhausted so much of our personal finances, as well as the finances of both our families already.”

She further wrote, “I am humbly asking for your assistance and hope in some way that you can expedite this process for us. Thank you so much.”

Locsin then quoted the tweet and tagged the Twitter handle of Foreign Affairs Office of Public Diplomacy head Elmer Cato: “OK. @elmer_cato please help her. They can’t wait. Love.”

According to the website Schengen Visa Info, “Philippine passport holders are required to obtain a Schengen visa in order to enter any European country in the Schengen Zone.”

Estonia, where the netizen is set to get married, is among the 26-member countries of the Schengen Zone. /jpv
