DFA: No passport processing Nov. 7

There will be no processing of applications for passports on Monday, Nov. 7, the Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA) said on Friday.

In an advisory, the DFA-OCA said its offices would be closed on Monday in celebration of Eid’l Adha, or the Islamic Feast of Sacrifice.

Major Muslim holidays President Aquino earlier issued Proclamation No. 276, declaring that Eid’l Ad-ha, one of the two major feasts of Islam, as a regular holiday nationwide.

All applicants scheduled for an appointment for pass-porting on the said date will be accommodated anytime from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, Monday to Friday, from Nov. 8 (Tuesday) to Nov. 18 (Friday).

Passport applicants are requested to bring their original appointment forms bearing Nov. 7 as their date of appointment, the DFA said.

For applicants who are scheduled to claim their passports on Monday, they may get their passports anytime from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning on Nov. 8, it added.
