China’s Xi: ‘Long live for the kind friendship of Philippines and China’

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Malacañang on Tuesday afternoon where President Rodrigo Duterte formally welcomed him for his two-day state visit to the Philippines.

As a courtesy, the Chinese leader signed Malacañang’s guest book and wrote a short message, which reads:

“Long live for the kind friendship of Philippines and China.”

Xi arrived in Manila on Tuesday morning after his visit to Brunei Darrusalam.

He is set to hold a bilateral meeting and attend a state banquet in Malacañang on Tuesday night.

On his second day, Xi will meet House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Senate President Vicente Sotto III at Shangri-la Hotel in Taguig City, and would also see members of Filipino-Chinese community in the country.

Xi will leave the Philippines by Wednesday afternoon. /kga
