No classes, gov’t work in Manila on Nov. 20 due to China’s Xi Jinping visit

Classes and government work in Manila will be canceled on Nov. 20 to make way for Chinese President Xi Jinping visit to the country, Manila City Hall said on Friday.

In an executive order signed by Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada, the suspension will ensure public order, safety and convenience.

A welcoming celebration for Xi’s visit will be from Nov. 20 to 21 which will take place at Malacañang Palace and in Rizal Monument in Luneta Park, Manila.
