DFA warns Filipinos in Israel to avoid public places

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday called on Filipinos in Israel to take precautionary measures following the escalation of violence between the Israeli military and Palestinian militants in Gaza.

In an advisory, the DFA has cautioned the more than 29,400 Filipinos to avoid public places, particularly in Netivot, Sha’ar Hanegev, Ashkelon, Eshkol, Ashdod, Sderot, Beersheba, and other areas near Gaza, the West Bank, and the Golan Heights.

Ambassador to Israel Neal Imperial said that more than 400 rockets were fired into Israel from Gaza which prompted Israel to retaliate with air strikes last Monday.  /muf
