Newly-appointed Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy “Boy” Locsin Jr. on Friday said the Philippines “stands with Israel and US in fighting anti-Semitism” as he extended the nation’s condolences to victims of the synagogue bombing in Pittsburgh, United States (US).
Anti-Semitic gunman Robert Bowers opened fire on Jewish congregants at a synagogue in Pittsburgh last October 27.

In a tweet, Locsin branded anti-Semitism or discrimination against Jews an “ugly motivation” which, he noted, “all decent mankind condemns.”
Decent people everywhere grieve over the synagogue bombing in Pittsburgh. And condole with families of Jewish-Americans killed there and the US govt. The ugly motivation is anti-Semitism which all decent mankind condemns. PH stands with Israel and US in fighting anti-Semitism.

Locsin also said that despite differences in policies, the Philippines will join the fight against such discrimination.
“Whatever foreign policy differences we have with the US, on fighting Islamic fundamentalist terrorism we stand foursquare with the US and with the great state of Israel with which we have historic ties of blood and friendship. We will fight anti-Semitism to the very end of it,” he said. /kga
