Filipinos were not “adversely affected” by Hurricane Michael which hit some parts of the United States (US), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Thursday.
Hurricane Michael made landfall on Wednesday in Florida with wind speed of 140 miles per hour.

Jose Manuel Romualdez, Philippine Ambassador to US, reported to Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano that 3,300 Filipinos in Panama City, Florida were not hurt and some evacuated from their residences.
However, most Filipinos were affected by the power outage in the area.
Romualdez advised the estimated 232,000 Filipinos in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina to follow the necessary precautions and listen to the warnings of local officials.
