BI to deport 2 Chinese fugitives arrested in Binondo

Two Chinese nationals wanted in Beijing  will be deported following their arrest in Binondo, Manila last week, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Tuesday.

In a statement, the BI said the Chinese fugitives will be deported as they were undesirable and undocumented aliens.  Chinese authorities had informed the agency that the passports of  the fugitives have been canceled.

“Upon deportation, they will be placed in our blacklist to ensure these fugitives won’t be able to return to the Philippines,” BI Spokesperson Dana Krizia Sandoval said.

The two Chinese nationals  arrested on Oct. 4 and were identified as Fu Hanzhou, a 42-year old male, and Huang Meizhen, a 37-year old female.

The BI said Fu and Huang were apprehended a week after one of their alleged accomplices, 36-year-old Lian Lion, was arrested inside his hotel room in Binondo.

The three arrested Chinese nationals allegedly conspired with two other suspects in a credit card fraud scheme that victimized many of their compatriots.

While waiting for their deportation, Fu and Huang will be detained at the BI Detention Facility in Taguig City. The immigaration bureau has yet to arrest the two remaining suspects.

All five Chinese nationals have been issued deportation orders by the BI Board of Commissioners at the request of the China’s Ministry of Public Security. /ee
