Filipino living near Indonesia volcano eruption site safe — DFA
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed on Thursday that it has tracked the Filipino national living near the volcanic eruption site in northern Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Oscar Orcine, Philippine Consulate General in Indonesia, reported to Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano that the Filipino and his family are safe.

Orcine said there were tremors before the volcanic eruption, but the Filipino, who is a retired employee of Orcine, and his family were unharmed.
Mount Supotan spewed a massive column of ash on Wednesday morning. Prior to the volcanic eruption, a magnitude 7.5 earthquake jolted the same island last Sept. 28. /ee
