According to the DFA, Consul General Ma. Elena Algabre will assist the Norway-based maternal aunt of Mailyn in making arrangements for the repatriation of her remains.
Algabre will also aid Sinambong’s aunt in gathering more information about her niece’s death from police authorities.
The consul general, the DFA assured, will also talk to the lawyer appointed by the Swedish government to handle the murder case against Sinambong’s actor-husband, who remains in custody.
Earlier, Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano instructed the Office of Migrant Workers Affairs, the Embassy in Oslo, and the DFA Consular Office in Cebu to extend all possible assistance to Mailyn’s family and ensure that justice is served. /je
