DFA: No Filipino casualties in Japan due to ‘Trami’

There are no reports of injuries or casualties among Filipinos in Okinawa, Wakayama Prefectures and Shikoku Islands after Typhoon “Trami” hit Western Japan over the weekend, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Monday.

Ambassador to Japan Jose Laurel V said that the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo and the consulate general in Osaka are in touch with the members of the Filipino community in the area.

Transport and train services resumed after Trami left Japan’s area of responsibility Monday morning, the DFA said.

Laurel assured that the embassy and consulate general are monitoring the situation and are ready to provide assistance to affected Filipino nationals. /je
