The revamp has begun.

Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale said yesterday she intends to dissolve the district deputies office created by the late vice governor Greg Sanchez and cease the renewal of contracts of employees found to be inefficient.

Magpale said she also intends to discontinue publication of The Gavel, the legislative department’s newsletter to save on cost.

Instead, she wants to have a section of Sugbo News, the official publication of the province, dedicated to the legislative department. This way, Capitol will save the amount supposedly intended for another publication.

But she wanted to continue the medical missions organized by the late vice governor Sanchez.

Sanchez left behind 62 office employees of which 39 are casuals, 18 are contractual, seven are co-terminous and three are regular employees.

Magpale said most of the mountain barangays in the province need of services and she is asking the Provincial Board members to also support the program.

Her office’s first medical mission will be held in Tudela town located in the Camotes Group of Islands.

Meanwhile, Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia said she would gladly allocate air time in her Sugbo TV for the legislative department.
