Filipinos in Malaysia told to heed repatriation

/ 07:02 AM August 12, 2018

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday appealed to thousands of undocumented Filipinos in Malaysia to avail themselves of the voluntary repatriation offer from the Malaysian government before it ends this month.

In a statement, the DFA called on the estimated 400,000 Filipinos in Malaysia who had no legal immigration status to take advantage of the voluntary deportation program, which will end on Aug. 30.

The DFA made the appeal amid the continuing crackdown on undocumented foreign nationals in Malaysia. —Jerome Aning
