Briton kills self on All Saints’ Day
A British man reportedly killed himself in his house in Quezon City on Tuesday.
Records of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit identified the Briton as Martin Lewis, 60, a resident of Filinvest II in Batasan Hills.
Case officer PO2 Rommel Mayo said Lewis was found by his Filipino wife at around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday hanging from an iron fence at the back of their house.
The victim had been left by himself after his wife and their housemaid went to the cemetery.
The police said Lewis left two suicide notes addressed to his wife. He also left instructions that he was not to be resuscitated because he wanted to die.
His wife told the police that her husband was suffering from bipolar disorder and that he tried to kill himself three years ago. Nancy C. Carvajal
