Citing its mutual cooperation on infrastructure projects and the antinarcotics campaign, Malacañang on Friday lauded the Philippines’ relationship with China as being in the “renaissance” stage.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the Philippine government is “very happy” with its renewed ties with China under the Duterte administration.
He made the remarks in a press briefing in Bukidnon, hours before President Duterte was scheduled to inaugurate the P700-million Northern Mindanao Wellness and Reintegration Center in Malaybalay City, a donation of the Friends of the Philippines Foundation, headed by Chinese businessman Jose Kho.
