EU envoy mourns passing of ‘patriot and friend’ Edgardo Angara

European Union (EU) Ambassador to the Philippines Franz Jessen on Sunday joined the nation in mourning the passing of former Senate President Edgardo “Edong” Angara.

“I am saddened to hear that Senator Ed Angara, a statesman and a good friend, has passed away,” Jessen said in a statement.

“My thoughts and prayers are with his family,” he added.

Jessen remembered Angara as “a great patriot and a true friend of the EU.”
