DFA to test passport e-payment facility at Aseana site
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will test on Saturday an electronic payment facility for passport application and renewal at its Aseana site in Pasay City.
The ePayment facility was one of the proposed changes in the heavily criticized passport application system.
“This is in preparation for the upcoming launch of the Passport ePayment facility for the Online Appointment System,” the DFA said in an advisory.
Earlier this year when the 10-year validity passport was launched, the DFA faced a surge of complaints for fully booked online passport appointment system.
Foreign Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano had earlier said that an ePayment system was a possible fix to the congested appointment system.
