Pinoys in Kuwait have 3 more days to avail of amnesty
Filipinos unlawfully staying in Kuwait have three more days to avail of the government’s repatriation program, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday.
Foreign Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs Sarah Lou Arriola said some 6,000 Filipinos had yet to take advantage of the Kuwaiti government’s amnesty program for undocumented foreigners staying in the oil-rich emirate.
Although the amnesty period would end on April 22, she said the Philippine Embassy would need 10 days to process the travel papers of undocumented Filipinos flying back to the Philippines. —Marlon Ramos
