President Rodrigo Duterte will embark on three trips abroad this April – in Hainan province and Hong Kong in China and in Singapore.
In Special Order 310, which he signed on Tuesday, April 3, the President designated Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea as caretaker of government during his trips early this month.
“To ensure continuity of government service, it is necessary to designate an Officer-In-Charge (OIC) to take care of the day-to-day operations in the Office of the President and oversee the general administration of the Executive Department,” the order read.
The President will attend the Boao Forum for Asia in Hainan province of China on April 9 to 10.
The Boao Forum is an annual gathering of government and business leaders.
It will be his third trip to China since he assumed office in June 2016.
After his China trip, the President will then proceed to Hong Kong to meet the Filipino community there.
He will be in Hong Kong on April 11 and 12.
Aside from those two trips, the President is expected to attend the 32nd Leaders Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) in Singapore from April 25 to 28. /atm
