Joavan ‘kicks girlfriend’

JOAVAN Fernandez, the controversial son of Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez, again caught public attention when he allegedly kicked his girlfriend inside his SUV in sitio Negative, barangay Carreta, shortly before midnight yesterday.

But Joavan’s girlfriend Doreen Isidro, 20, will not file charges against him after agreeing to settle the incident in private, said Chief Insp. George Ylanan of the Criminal Investigation and Detective Management Branch (IDMB).

Ylanan and the Mobile Patrol Group rushed to the area when residents sought police assistance after they saw Joavan drive out Isidro from the SUV.

When police arrived in the area, Joavan had fled already and Isidro refused to be interviewed.
