The US Embassy in Manila cannot update its website regularly because of the US government shutdown.
“Due to the lapse in appropriations, this feed will not be updated regularly. Please visit @StateDept for updates,” it tweeted on Saturday.
The Inquirer tried to clarify the US Embassy notice on Sunday but received no response from its spokesperson.
The US government shutdown began at midnight on Friday after Democrats and Republicans failed to resolve a standoff over immigration and spending. —Christine O. Avendaño
