Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III is pushing for the appointment of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in the soon-to-open Overseas Filipino Bank (OFB).
“I recommended one OFW from land-based sector and another representing sea-based sector [to the Board of Directors],” Bello said.
In September, President Rodrigo Duterte signed EO No. 44, converting the Philippine Postal Savings Bank (PPSB) to the OFB.
The OFB will provide financial products and services tailored to the requirement of overseas Filipinos. —Tina G. Santos
