Viet president’s visit marks 35th year of ties with PH
MANILA, Philippines—Vietnamese President Truon Tan Sang will be in the Philippines for a state visit October 26-28, Malacañang announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Abigail Valte, President Benigno Aquino’s deputy spokesperson, said the visit coincides with the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Vietnam.
Malacañang advised the public that traffic on some major streets in Manila and Pasay City will be heavier than usual.
The following routes will be affected on the specific dates:
October 26: Osmeña Highway, Quirino Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, Padre Burgos, Finance Road, Ayala Boulevard, and General Solano Street;
October 27: Roxas Boulevard;

Article continues after this advertisementThe Metro Manila Development Authority, local government units, and the Philippine National Police are coordinating to secure the Vietnamese delegation and ensure that the volume of traffic remains manageable.
“We extend our apologies to Metro Manila motorists for the temporary inconvenience,” Valte said. “We advise you to take alternative routes to avoid the heavy traffic, and thank you for your understanding and patience.”
