Cebu Pacific cancels Bali flights due to volcano eruption

Cebu Pacific canceled its flights to Bali, Indonesia, on Tuesday following the closure of the resort island’s airport due to the eruption of Mount Agung.

Canceled were flights 5J-279 from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3 to Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, Bali, which was supposed to leave at around 3:50 a.m.

The return flight, 5J-280, scheduled to arrive at Naia at around 12:40 p.m., was also canceled.

In an advisory, Cebu Pacific said passengers with confirmed bookings on flights would be moved to the next available flight.

Affected passengers may also opt to rebook their flights within the next 30 days, apply the booking for full refund, or place the cost of the ticket in a travel fund for future use.

For inquiries, Bali-bound tourists interested in taking Cebu Pacific flights were asked to contact the airline’s hotline (702-0888) or social media accounts.

Indonesian authorities have extended the closure of Ngurah Rai to Wednesday morning.
