The list was recently compiled by FlightNetwork after consulting over 600 of the world’s best travel journalists, editors, bloggers and agencies.
Number 14 on the list is El Nido in Palawan, once described by Lonely Planet as the Gateway to the Sublime. Named after the tiny swiftlets that build out of their saliva the edible nests (el nido in Spanish) found in the immense limestone cliffs surrounding the town, El Nido belongs to mainland Palawan that in January 2016, was declared the World’s Best Island by Condé Nast Traveler, a US-based lifestyle and luxury magazine.
