World leaders start flying out of PH

US President Donald Trump and other leaders flew out of Manila at the close of the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit.

Mr. Trump left at past 3 p.m. aboard US Air Force One from  Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s Balagbag Ramp. He was seen off by government officials.

Brunei’s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, and Prime Ministers Justin Trudeau of Canada, Malcolm Turnbull of Australia, and Dmitry Medvedev of Russia also departed on Tuesday, airport officials said.

Laotian Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith left on Monday night as he had to host visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping at home.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Indonesian President Joko Widodo and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres were scheduled to depart Tuesday night.

The leaders of the European Union, East Timor, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, South Korea and Japan are scheduled to leave on Wednesday, while Chinese Premier Li Keqiang is set to depart on Thursday.

There were no departure honors and media coverage for the departing leaders. —Jerome Aning
