United States President Donald Trump doesn’t want to be left behind.

Trump said on Monday he would start to practice singing so he could have a duet with President Rodrigo Duterte.

Secretary Jesus Dureza, presidential adviser on the peace process who was present during the bilateral meeting between Duterte and Trump, said the US leader was amazed with the performances during the gala dinner on Sunday night

“The Filipino performers were great. But the greatest performer was him,” Trump said, pointing a finger at Duterte.

Trump was among the leaders who were feted in a gala dinner at the SMX Mall of Asia in Pasay City on Sunday.

During the dinner, Duterte sang his favorite song “Ikaw,” which was composed by Louie Ocampo, with lyrics by George Canseco.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I sang an invited duet with Ms. Pilita Corrales upon the orders of the commander-in-chief of the United States,” he said after singing.

Dureza said he told Trump: “You should practice singing too so you could do a duet together next time.”

“Great idea,” Trump said. “I’ll do that.” /atm
