Duterte sings at Asean gala dinner at request of Trump

President Rodrigo Duterte sang at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) gala dinner on Sunday evening, granting the request of United States President Donald Trump.

A Twitter post of Public Works and Highways Undersecretary for Legal Affairs and Priority Projects Karen Jimeno showed Duterte singing “Ikaw” with singer Pilita Corales.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I sang an invited duet with Ms. Pilita Corrales upon the orders of the commander-in-chief of the United States,” Duterte said after singing.

The President, chair of the Asean 2017, hosted the gala dinner at the Mall of Asia SMX Convention Center, together with his common-law wife Cielito “Honeylet” Avanceña.

The 10 leaders of the Asean member states as well as the leaders of the Asean dialogue partners attended the event. /atm
