The Philippine government has said there were no Filipino hurt in a series of attacks in Pakistan, which killed more than 80 people.
“The Philippine Embassy in Islamabad reported that no Filipino was hurt following three separate attacks in Pakistan on Friday,” the Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement released Saturday.

“Over 80 have been reported killed in the twin blasts in the northwestern town of Parachinar and in the suicide car bombing in the southwestern city of Quetta,” it added. “The Philippine government conveys its sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims.”

Of the more than 80 people killed, at least 67 were victims of twin bombings at a market in the northwestern town of Parachinar, according to the Associated Press.
Al Jazeera reported that the blasts happened as Ramadan was about to end and with streets filled with people buying food in preparation for breaking their fast.
More than a dozen people were killed in a suicide car bombing near the provincial police chief’s office in the southwestern town of Quetta. The attack was claimed by a breakaway group of the Taliban and the Islamic State. JE
