The Philippine embassy in London confirmed Wednesday that Filipinos were among those injured and affected in the London tower fire.
“A number of them are in the emergency shelters at St. Clément’s Church, the St. Francis of Assisi Church and the Portobello Rugby Club on Walmer,” the embassy said in a statement.
Several people were confirmed dead and at least 30 were injured in a Grenfell Tower, a high-rise apartment building in west London.

London police said “a number of people are being treated for a range of injuries,” including at least two for smoke inhalation.
People were believed to be trapped in the massive fire that started around 1 a.m. London time.
