The Philippine government on Tuesday joined the international community in condemning the truck attack that killed four people in Stockholm last April 7.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) described the terror attack, which involved a stolen beer truck ramming a department store, as “appalling.”

“The Philippines joins Sweden in mourning the loss of innocent lives and prays for the speedy recovery of the victims injured by this terroristic act,” it said in a statement.

“Nothing can justify this heinous crime, which is a direct attack on the democratic principles that both the Philippines and Sweden stand for,” DFA said.
