In observance of the Holy Week, the United States Embassy in Manila will be closed to the public on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, April 13 and 14.
Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are regular holidays in the predominantly Catholic Philippines, while Black Saturday, April 15, is a special nonworking holiday.
In an advisory released on Holy Wednesday, the embassy said it would resume regular operations on Monday, April 17.
Some local government units and courts have announced half-day work for Holy Wednesday to give way to the exodus to provinces.
Metro Manila’s railway systems would also stop operations from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday. IDL
