A 41-year-old Filipino domestic helper was arrested after she allegedly stole clothes belonging to her employer who lives in a posh villa at Hong Kong’s Repulse Bay.
The Filipina was first spotted carrying a large nylon bag and “acting suspiciously” on Repulse Bay Road on April 3, according to South China Morning Post. Noticing her suspicious look, the villa’s security guard accosted the helper and reportedly found 50 pieces of women’s clothing worth HK$30,000 (P191, 630) stashed inside her bag.
Police arrested the maid for theft and said she had told them that she intended to sell the clothes.

The incident came days after another Filipino maid was cited also for theft in Hong Kong. Forty-year-old Mildred Nilo Ladia was ordered by the Eastern Court to pay a fine of HK$800 (P5,130) after she confessed to eating her employer’s food last year, according to another report by South China Morning Post.
