The Hong Kong government has given the Philippines a say in its labor policy through a technical working group that will provide input on policies affecting migrant workers.
Philippine consul general Bernardita Catalla said the technical working group formed by Hong Kong’s Labour and Immigration departments and the Philippine consulate general would give relevant and vital data on Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to facilitate the Hong Kong government’s policy-making process on migrant labor.
Catalla, in her recent meeting with newly appointed Hong Kong Labour and Welfare Secretary Stephen Sui Wai-Keung, said the technical working group would become a venue to exchange information on concerns involving Filipino workers in Hong Kong.
