OFW nabbed for forging telcom docs, stealing phones in Kuwait

/ 03:37 PM February 23, 2017

An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) has been arrested for forging documents of a telecommunications company to steal smartphones and sell them for a discounted price.

Kuwait Times reported that the unidentified Filipino man happened to know the password of a friend’s computer in a telecom shop. He tinkered with the system and managed to stash 16 iPhone 7 Plus units and mobile plans, registering them under the names of existing customers whose profiles were saved on the system.

The report said the Filipino sold the iPhone devices for 20 percent less than their original price.
