Overseas Filipina worker Jakatia Pawa was buried in Kuwait Thursday, a day after her execution.
Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Rene Villa on Thursday confirmed that Pawa was buried at a cemetery in Kuwait, Radyo Inquirer reported.
Jakatia Pawa, a domestic helper from Zamboanga del Norte, was sentenced to death in April 2008 for the killing of her employer’s daughter. The Court of Cassation, an appellate court verifying the interpretation of law, upheld the verdict in 2013.
Pawa was executed by hanging at 10:19 a.m. on Wednesday in Kuwait (3:19 p.m. Philippine time).

Villa said that Pawa’s remains were brought to a prayer hall, then to the cemetery where the officials of the Philippine Embassy witnessed her entombment.
Villa assured that the burial went on without kinks, and it was also according to the Islam tradition to bury the departed within 24 hours of death.
Photos from the event were also sent by the Embassy to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). IDL
