Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will have a two-day visit to the Philippines on January 12 to 13, Malacañang confirmed Tuesday.
Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said Abe would arrive in the country on Thursday.
“He will be here on Thursday and there’ll be a state dinner,” Abella said.
Abe, he said, would fly to Davao City after his meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte in Malacañang.
The Palace official said Duterte and Abe would talk about regional issues, business and counterterrorism, among others.
He added Abe would also meet with the business sector in Manila and in Davao City during his visit.
Abella said Prime Minister Abe also wanted to visit the President’s house.
In October 2016, Duterte embarked on a three-day official visit in Japan. CDG
