Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano on Wednesday said a foreign singer’s statement is a reflection of how the international community views our country on the drug war and urged the government to be “sensitive” to feedback.
In a statement, Alejano said James Taylor remark “only shows international perception about our country” particularly on the administration’s war on drugs.

Taylor wrote in his Twitter post that “recent reports from the Philippines of summary executions of suspected offenders without trial or judicial process are deeply concerning and unacceptable to anyone who loves the rule of law.”
He also canceled his concert in Manila in February.
“The rising deaths are alarming and cannot be denied,” Alejano said.
The Magdalo representative also said that the perception is also shared at home as 8 out of 10 or 4 of 5 Filipinos are worried that they or their friends will be victims of extrajudicial killings, according to a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
