Immigration to deport 3 foreign fugitives
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is preparing the deportation of three foreign fugitives arrested in Cebu last week.
Arrested were American Peter Alan Towle, 61, 42-year-old Korean named Choi Ki Young and Han Dae Sung, 48.
Towle was arrested inside his unit at the MS Uptown Apartelle along Rahmann Street, Cebu City. He is a convicted pedophile who was ordered re-arrested by a California court in 2013 for his failure to register as a sex offender. He was previously convicted on charges of engaging in lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years of age.
On the other hand, Young was arrested inside his house along P. Burgos Street in Mandaue City. He is wanted in his country for violating his country’s national sports promotion act. He is also the subject of an Interpol red notice. Sung, meanwhile, is wanted in his country due to a string of fraud cases that were filed against him.
“All of them are now detained at our detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig while awaiting deportation to their countries where they will stand trial for their crimes,” Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said.
He disclosed that the fugitives have been hiding in Cebu for the past several years, hence they were already overstaying at the time of their arrest.
