BI issues special work permit to Air Supply to perform in PH
Good news for Air Supply fans.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has issued a Special Work Permit (SWP) to slow rock band Air Supply to perform in the country next month.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente has issued an order granting the SWP to Australians Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, who comprise the popular band.
The permit allows the band to perform at the Pacific Grand Ballroom Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City on December 6 and at the Resorts World Hotel in Pasay City on December 8.
The work permit allows foreigners to engage in gainful activity in the country for a short period of time. Without a work permit, foreign concert artists, talents and musicians are prohibited from engaging in gainful activity and may be subjected to deportation proceedings.
Morente stated the SWP is valid for three months and that the applicants should not engage in other gainful activities while in the country or the said work permit will be revoked.
