Duterte arrives in Lima, Peru for Apec summit

President Rodrigo Duterte has arrived in Lima, Peru for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) summit.

Duterte arrived in the South American city shortly before 1 p.m. (Manila time) to attend the Economic Leaders Meeting attended by word leaders.

The President is expected to present his administration’s 10-point socioeconomic agenda during the summit.

He is expected to have a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom he earlier described as his “idol.”

Joining the President were eight members of his delegation, namely Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr., Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Finance Secretary Sonny Dominguez, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, Economic Secretary Ernesto Pernia, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon and Sen.
